This is the first American edition of Grace Aguilar's novel, *The Perez Family*, published in Philadelphia in 1847 by the Jewish Publication Society of America (JPSA). This copy is inscribed "to Catherine E. Moses from H. Pesoa." The novel tells the story of a Jewish family and explores themes of Jewish life and identity in the 19th century.
