Torah ark curtain commemorating the wedding of Buna, daughter of Moses Benjamin ha-Levi and Rivkah bat Mordekhai Bruk, and David Alexander in San Francisco on June 19, 1853 (13 Sivan 5613). The curtain, created in Breslau, Prussia (present-day Wrocław, Poland), was dedicated on September 4, 1853 (Rosh Hodesh Elul 5613). Made of floral fabric and green velvet with metal-thread embroidery, sequins, and a Torah crown motif. Includes a valance with a dedication from 1831. The curtain's inscription commemorates the wedding and its significance to the early Jewish community in San Francisco. The materials are velvet and cotton with metal-thread embroidery on cardboard and sequins.
