This book contains the order of service for the dedication of the new Shearith Israel Synagogue on West 19th Street, near Fifth Avenue, in New York City, on September 12, 1860. The service, which commemorated the 206th anniversary of the arrival of the first Jews in New Amsterdam, included seven circuits of the Torah with accompanying Psalms, a discourse by Rev. A. Fischell, and a consecration prayer by Rev. J. J. Lyons. The Hebrew and English texts are presented on facing pages. The book was printed by John M. Jackson in New York.
