Subject: Liquor bottles

Clear glass whiskey bottle with the inscription "H. Swartz & Co. Leverett St. Boston Mass." and "UNION MADE" molded into the glass. Manufactured circa 1860s in Boston, Massachusetts.

A whiskey jug shaped like an urn with a handle. This artifact was from a store in existence between 1880 and 1938 and was purchased in Minneapolis, Minnesota. A reference to the jug appears in a work titled "Bottles of MN." The jug's association with a Jewish family named Weil is noted. Circa 1890s.
