Ducachet requests information about the dedication service of a Hebrew Orphan Asylum in New York, seeking details on the service format and any relevant materials from Leeser's ritual. The letter shows Ducachet's interest in Jewish religious practices and is accompanied by a photostat of an account mentioning his attendance at a meeting protesting the Damascus Affair in 1840, along with a biographical sketch.
