Manuscript guide to Jewish funeral rites written by Aaron Cohen Henriques and presented to the Kaal Kadosh Shahar Ashamaim Synagogue for use at the Kingston burial ground on Kislev 1, 5629 (November 15, 1868). The Spanish-Portuguese Synagogue Shaar HaShamaim was established in Kingston in 1744. By 1871, Jews constituted 13% of Kingston's white population; the Henriques family was among the most prominent Jewish families on the island. See M.
