Newspaper clipping from the Rutland Herald, May 16, 1843, reporting on the destruction of Florida's orange groves by insects and mentioning a letter from David Levy Yulee to Daniel Webster requesting information on the insect's history abroad. This article is noted as one of the earliest newspaper references to David Levy Yulee's election. The clipping also mentions Yulee's election as a Democratic Territorial Delegate to the National House of Representatives in 1841 and his later service as the first Jewish member of the United States Senate.
