Subject: Harness Makers

Billhead issued on February 13, 1888, to Adolph Sutro from C. H. Mead, Jr., a saddle and harness manufacturer located at 16 Golden Gate Avenue in San Francisco, California. The billhead mentions Mead's patented tail guard. This billhead is part of a collection of billheads made out to Adolph Sutro, who built the Sutro Tunnel for the Comstock Lode and served as Mayor of San Francisco.

Billhead from J. Friedenthal, located at 225 Mott Street, between Prince and Spring Streets, New York, New York. Dated March 31, 1874. The bill is addressed to the New York City Health Department, 128 Worth Street, for $5.25 in repairs and sales of various tack. A detailed invoice is written on both sides totaling $580.21. A lithograph of a horse's head is included. The billhead indicates that Friedenthal made horse collars, tack, and harness to order.

Billhead from L. H. Rosengrans, a manufacturer and dealer in harnesses, saddles, spurs, etc., located on Broadway, one door above Main Street in Helena, Montana. The billhead is dated January 17, 1876.
