A postal card sent from S. Zickel to B. Westermann & Co. The obverse features an ornate "POSTAL CARD" banner and a New York postmark dated December 5, 1876. The reverse side acts as an advertisement for S. Zickel, a publisher and importer located at 19 Dey Street, New York, listing various German-language publications such as "Haus und Welt," "Der Lejtar," and "Fliegende Blätter," with decorative borders. A handwritten message in German is also present on the reverse, addressed to B. Westermann & Co., 524 Broadway, and dated December 4, 1876.

Book published in New York by Harper & Brothers in 1844. This complete copy includes two advertisements in the rear. Two copies are located by Rosenbach, and an additional copy exists at the Library Company of Philadelphia (online catalog). Although not explicitly stated in the text, both identifying sources list the author as C. Spindler.

This 13-page pamphlet contains a sermon on the Sabbath, translated from German and delivered on December 15, 1888. Published in Baltimore in 1889, the sermon was given by Kaufmann Kohler. The pamphlet is in its original wrappers.

First American edition of J. A. Kalb's German translation of Spinoza's *Tractatus Theologico-Politicus*. Published in Philadelphia by Kiderlen & Stollmeyer in 1838. The book contains a preface (pp. [iii]-xlviii), and the main text (pp. 432). It is an 8vo volume in contemporary boards. The copy shows evidence of prior library ownership and some browning. This is notable for being the first Spinoza work printed in America, in German rather than English. Previous German editions were published in 1805, 1806, 1826, and later.
