This manuscript autograph album belonged to Fannie H. Hirschfelder Bernheim, who was 18 years old when she compiled it around 1873. The album contains approximately 50 sentiments and signatures from friends and family, primarily from locations in California including Santa Cruz, San Francisco, Santa Clara, San Buenaventura, and Ventura. It also includes a drawing. The album provides a glimpse into the social life of a young woman in California in the 1870s. The album is approximately 6 1/2" x 8" and is in fair to good condition with some foxing.

This red leather autograph album, titled "Paragon autograph album," belonged to Rosa Jacobson and contains signatures, messages, and drawings from friends and family spanning from 1881 to 1907. A majority of entries are from 1881-1883, including many from her confirmation classmates. The album's condition is somewhat deteriorated; the spine is missing, the front cover is detached, and some leaves are loose.

Autograph letter signed by Rebecca Gratz to her sister Rachel Gratz, written in English on December 18-19, 1800. The letter discusses mutual friends, family, social activities, and expresses affection for Rachel and her children. It contains a tender passage comparing a younger sister to a deceased sister, Isabella. The three-page letter includes an autograph address panel on the verso. Accompanied by a typed transcription.

First American edition of Elizabeth Rowe's *Friendship of Death*, originally published in 1728. This edition, published in New York by Tiebout & O'Brien for Benjamin Gomez in 1795, is noted as the only known American copy. Samuel Johnson described Rowe as "the earliest English writer to employ with success `the ornaments of romance in the decoration of religion."

A handwritten poem dated December 25, 1854, from Alice Cohen to Mary Hume. The poem was torn from a remembrance book dedicated to Mary Hume Armstrong of South Carolina. The cities mentioned in the book include Homewood, Columbia, Rock Hill, Rome, Arcadia, and Linwood. Alice Gertrude Nathans (Cohen) was born in Charleston, South Carolina on January 7, 1847, and died July 3, 1900. The poem measures approximately 6 by 7 1/2 inches.

A one and a half page stampless letter written by C. Melhado in Panama on May 18, 1840, to Charles Tobias in New York City. Melhado discusses his plans to remain in Panama to explore the Isthmus of Darien, mentions a letter of introduction he sent for Justo Arosemena, and inquires about Tobias's marital plans. The letter also notes that Arosemena's father was the Collector of Customs.

A letter written circa 1885 by Jozef Israels to Van Tropot (?). The letter discusses Van Tropot's visit to the Queen and expresses hope for a positive outcome. It also mentions an upcoming visit and suggests a close friendship between the writers. The letter mentions 'ASD...Israels'.

A one-page, stampless letter written on March 31, 1823, from an anonymous friend in Liverpool, England to Rebecca Tobias in New York City. The letter includes a short poem.
