The verso displays a full advertisement for Vannerson & Levy, photographers, located at 737 Main Street, Richmond, Virginia (two doors above the Spotswood Hotel). Undated, likely taken during or shortly after the American Civil War.

Envelope from Louis E. Stilz & Bro., manufacturers of society and military goods, costumes, armor, flags, and banners, located at 153 & 155 North Fourth Street, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Dated circa 1905. Features a depiction of a knight on the cover and includes a broadside for "Knights of the Golden Eagle" caps.

A three-quarter page, stampless letter written by Horace E. Baldwin in New York City to Charles Tobias in New Orleans on January 17, 1850. The letter discusses a shipment of flags and clocks. Horace E. Baldwin was a partner in the firm Taylor, Baldwin and Co. in Newark, New Jersey, before moving to New Orleans in 1842, and he appears to have remained there until 1853.

This is an advertisement for Chase & Sanborn coffee featuring "The History of Our American Flag." The advertisement includes a large, colorful illustration of the colonial American flag and accompanying historical information. The back cover features additional store information. Published circa 1898.

This trade card advertises Joseph Cohen & Son as "Sensali Marittimi" (maritime brokers/agents) with offices in Charleston, S.C., and Savannah, GA. The card indicates the business was "Casa Stabilita dal 1844" (Established since 1844). It features a colored depiction of the Kingdom of Italy flag, along with ornate Victorian-style lettering for the business name and locations. The card also notes a telegraphic address "'COHENSON'" and identifies Capt. ANT. CASTELLANO as the Director of the Italian and Austrian Department.
