Billhead for P. R. Gottstein, Manufacturer of Patent Composition Mining Candles. The billhead is printed on pink paper and is dated July 15, 1881. The billhead features the business name in large, bold lettering. The decorative elements include a framed header section and decorative borders with ornate lettering.

Billhead from Morgenthau, M., for Mission Soap and Candle Works in San Francisco, California, dated October 25, 1887. The billhead advertises "EXTRA QUALITY MINING CANDLES" and features outstanding graphics. It was made out to the Savage Mining Company for mining candles and is pasted on a Savage Mining voucher. Located in Arc.MS.56, Box 14, Folder 6.

A tin candle holder with the inscription "LOUIS E. STILZ & BRO. SOCIETY GOODS...PHILADELPHIA" in gold paint on a black lacquer background. The design allows the candle to burn while enclosed. Its purpose is uncertain, possibly a cigar lighter or used in social rituals. Undated.

Receipt issued on March 13, 1821 in New York City from D. R. N. Sutherland to Mr. Tobias for six loaves of sugar and ten boxes of sperm candles. The receipt measures 8" x 3".
