Oil on canvas painting titled "Barge Life, East River," created in 1928 by Albert Potter. Signed and dated by the artist. Considered his finest oil painting. Depicts the bustle of life on a coal barge on the East River. The painting is described as a wonderful three-tiered composition. Related artwork is noted as original drawing 1.214. Potter died from a fall from a bridge while painting. His most noted works are prints from the WPA era.
