One issue (Vol. 1, No. 28, 6 October 1845) is missing. The first page shows signs of wear and wrinkling. The binding is a later addition of cloth over boards with a leather spine. The book is 29cm tall. The publication provides insights into Anglo-Jewry in the early Victorian period, including reviews (such as a review of Lady Montefiore's cookbook), accounts of Sir Moses Montefiore's activities (including his work aiding Russian Jews), coverage of the installation of Chief Rabbi Nathan Marcus Adler, and analyses of Tsar Nicholas I's policies towards Jews.
