Printer's Proof of Hebrew Commentary for *The Occident*, undated

Printer's proof galley of a Hebrew commentary, folded in half, showing Hebrew text in a 4" column with hand-inked corrections and English and Hebrew marginalia. The right-hand column includes the capitalized word "Sabbath." Contains a footnote by Leeser, "to my readers," identifying the Italian author of the commentary. The marginalia and corrections are in Leeser's hand. This may be the only extant galley proof from any of Leeser's publications. Found with other Leeser papers and verified by Dr. Arthur Kiron and Bruce Nielsen at the Katz Center, University of Pennsylvania.
