The slide bears Lubin's address, 21 S. 8th Street, Philadelphia. Lubin opened his first optical shop at 237 N. 8th Street in 1885 and moved to 21 S. 8th Street in 1890, where he began making magic lantern slides. Siegmund Lubin was a pioneer in early motion pictures and invented the first practical cineograph. Circa 1890.
