Biblia: en dos colunas hebrayco y español: 1762 Amsterdam edition
First Bible printed in both Hebrew and Spanish. Published in Amsterdam by Joseph, Iacob, and Abraham de Salomon Proops in 1762. This edition was the first Hebrew book whose publication was financed by and for the use of Jews on the American continent. Abraham Mendes Castro funded the printing to provide Bibles for students in Curaçao who lacked sufficient copies of the Pentateuch in Hebrew and Spanish. Profits from the sale went to the Jewish communities of Hebron and Jerusalem. Bound in its original binding.
