Business Card - One of the best illustrated business cards of the period that I have seen.......American Varnish Company Chicago....Lists Adolph Cohen as President. The American Varnish Company was located at 309, 311, 313 & 315 North Branch Street on the west side of Goose Island from 1883 into the 1930s. The company made varnishes used by agricultural implement manufacturers, and carriage and furniture makers in other parts of the Chicago metropolitan region. Adolph Cohen is listed in the Chicago Jewish Blue book as a VP of Hebrew Sheltering Home of the Chicago Federated Charities. Schnadig was active ion Russian Jewish relief.
