Book - Farewell Entertainments Given by Solomon Beuthner, To His Friends in Taos, New Mexico, On the 17th day of November,1855, And Sante Fe, New Mexico, On November 26th, 1855, Previous to His Departure for Europe.......Philadelphia: R. Stein, Book and Job Printer, 1858.....Only edition, with extracts from the Santa Fe Gazette reporting on Mr.Beuthener 11/26/1857 festivities which included guests from Fort Union, Fort Massachusetts, and Cantonment Burgwin......Champaign [sic] corks began immediately to fly thick and fast....while a brass band played and toasts were made. The evening includedspeeches made by Judge Houghton, a response by Mr. Beuthner (in English and Spanish), Lt. Craig, Aid-de-Camp to General Garland, General Garland, and Col. Grayson. Records indicate that Solomon Beuthener was appointed the postmaster of Fernandez de Taos, New Mexico on 10 May 1854.
