Receipt - Manuscript draft for $193,487.05 paid to Octavius Cohen for cargo received. Wilmington, NC, 12 November 1863. This sight draft was for cargo that had come into Wilmington through the blockade and purchased by Taylor. Signed by L. Cohen and endorsed by Octavius Cohen on verso. The Cohens were established in 1844, but became active in blockade-run importation and sale of those goods during the Civil War.
