T….Dec. 25, 1870…it lists the 4 notes (none are Jewish)…and charge to Myerstein & Co,. It is then addressed to (Isaac) Goldberg & (Philip) Drachman in Tucson A. T. The note has a revenue stamp. Across the note is written "Accepted May (?) 1871 payable to the office of (?) M. Cohn, San Francisco…signed Goldberg & Drachman. The Meyerstein brothers were active in the Paradise Lodge No. 237 of the Independent Order of B'nai B'rith. It was was instituted in San Bernardino, California, in May of 1875.Founding members included… Julius Meyerstein and Ceasar Meyerstein. In 1870 Philip Drachman had a store with Isaac Goldberg in Tucson called Goldberg & Drachman's. Isidor Loewenberg was a partner in the firm Meyerstein & Lowenberg (also spelled Loewenberg), merchants of produce, clothing and general merchandise in the San Francisco community.
